Mind you, this is the Clark Center at Stanford University, possibly the most high-tech and cutting edge bioinformatics and bioengineering facility in the world. The graduate students and postdocs in this building are VERY smart people.

Of course you are going to get whistles and cat calls - in your own words "... (they) are VERY smart people" They obviously recognize style and quality when they see it.
