you know when you go to arby's and order a sandwich they always weigh it out on the scale.. i just had a mental picture or some fabric shop laying tartan material on a small scale.

I will take a royal stewart in 16 oz with a side of 13 oz black watch.

I'm going to refrain from any further posts on this thread. I will not get into a pissing contest with anyone here.

If anyone has any heartburn with what I have posted you may PM me, e-mail me at steve@freedomkilts.com or call me on my personal cell, no. (250)889-0289.

I actually do weigh the fabric I receive in my shop and verify that, to what is advertised.

I also know how much thread is used for a kilt, how many buttons or straps are on each kilt, and what my packaging materials weigh. That's how I keep track of the actual cost of my kilts and how I control the retail price.

I'll make you a deal. Order one of my kilts, Tell me the Measurements, Model, & options you want and I'll post here what your kilt will weigh when you receive it. If I'm off by more that 3 oz. either way I'll refund your purchase price and the kilt is yours for free.

For those of us that don't know, what exactly does the weight mean? Is it how much 1 sq yard weighs or is it 1 yd of kilt width or is it the weight of a spool of yarn or what?

If I recall, its weight per yard, double width (is it 52"?).

If that's correct, then its the weight of a 36"x52" section of material.

    Yardage available

right now we have two chunks of material, 5 yards of Wallace, and 5 yards of Minnesota State. it is 13 oz (or darned close to it) BUT WHAT DO I KNOW. It is 52 inches wide and a yard is... well..three feet long...lol

so this is 15 feet x 52 inches

I was going to list it on ebay at 9.75 but will sell it to the first xmark person that emails me for 9 a yard plsu $12 shipping (USA)
