That is a Grant Hunting, not the Grant Hunting. The "official" Hunting tartan used by the Grant clan is the same as the Black Watch (also used as a Hunting tartan by clan Munro, and as the tartan of clan Campbell).

The one you picture is a Grant Hunting tartan from the 1819 Key Pattern Book of tartan weaving firm Wilsons of Bannockburn. It's not known where they obtained the pattern or why they called it Grant Hunting, but the design is very similar to their "Regent" tartan, which was later renamed MacLaren.

In any case, this tartan is still in production today, and can be found in The House of Edgar's "Old and Rare" line of medium weight kilt cloth. I outfitted a whole family in it last year. They chose it because:
    a) they wanted a Grant tartan
    b) they didn't want a red tartan
    c) they didn't want to be confused with Campbells!

Here's a pic of (some) of the family that I made the kilts for:

(the guy in the non-matching kilt is a friend of the fam's whose kilt I did not make).

When do you think you might have this tartan available? This just might be my first inexpensive kilt.
