It's very choppy. I understand that a certain amount of condensing had to be done, given the time they had to work with, and the length of the book... but I don't think they did a great job with the condensing. If you imagine someone who has seen the previous movies, but not read the book, I think they'd be quite confused.

Luna Lovegood is amazingly well cast.

I felt that way about the last Potter movie "Goblet of Fire". If one hadn't read the book I would expect a lot of "Huhs?"

I just read it. So I would be ready for the movie. I read into the wee hours last night to finish up the last 375 pages. This morning came way to fast!

I went to a noon showing today. I really enjoyed it, but I'm also an avid reader of the books (I've had the new one on order since January). It's quite a trick to condense an 896 page book to a 2 hr 20 min movie. I thought it was handled well. I don't think it will matter if you haven't read the book.
