Soaked at a pub night

On another thread, there's a group of guys at a parade. It's bucketing rain, umbrellas and raincoats are out, they're soaked.

Now, you know they're going to meet up in a pub. For those who haven't experienced a wool kilt drying in a room, you're in for it. In this picture, you've got quite a number of kilts steaming away.

You also know, like most of you, they're going to a classy place.

Question: how do you maintain the dignity and charm of the kilt, and the attraction, when the place is going to stink to high heavens in minutes?

"Pub" and "classy" in the same sentence? And the true charm and attraction of the wool kilt IS the dignified smell of wet wool drying out. Think WILD AND WOOLY!

Sorry, W2F. I don't get this post at all. There are plenty of classy pubs and the smell of wet wool is hardly dignified.

When I think of wild and wooly, I thing of bighorn sheep.

One of the advantages of synthetics. No wet dog smell when they dry out.

But, like most any other garment if you want to show it in the best light then sopping wet is not a good choice.

Now, if you want to demonstrate that the kilt is a truly rugged garment, able to handle the elements, keep it's wearer warm, and still dry into a good looking garment then you are set.
