Got any suggestions for one that goes well with a kilt but doesn't have a poofy ball, frilly rosette or otherwise *ahem* dainty thing on it? Those all look great on some people, but I ain't one of them.

If you are looking for a moder modern cap and don't like the balmoral or glengarry, I think a flat cap, sometimes called a driver's cap or a couny cap, looks great with a kilt. Especially a tweed one (I beleive Brad is wearing one with his weathered Henderson kilt in the link he posted in this thread).

About hats, how about a beret? They look great with kilts and have similar lines as a balmoral without the added ornamentation. You can still add a badge if you want though.
