I find the 'modern' colors to be a bit gaudy. Sort of like a barber pole or a Christmas wrapping. And I say this after having worn a modern McGregor from 1971 to 2006 (sold it on eBay because it seemed to have shrunk somewhat over the years).

Well, I'm going to have to vote for the Ancient this time. I'm usually a fan of Weathered tartans. But, with red and green tartans I've found I REALLY like the ancient. I would assume this tartan will look much like my Morrison red in ancient colors. I absolutely LOVE that one. I don't really find it to be that orange. I think the green in the tartan looks better green rather than brown as in the weathered.

I'm rapidly becoming a fan of all weathered tartans, so I have to vote for the weathered MacGregor.

I vote for the MacGregor in weathered colors, then get the MacGregor of Cardney in ancient. That should cover all the bases for a while.

I vote for the weathered. I think those colors look better together.

My kilt is the unweathered McGregor, so I guess I lean to that but, as I've said every time this comes up, my next kilt is the McGregor "film" tartan.

I saw a lady who was wearing an Ancient McGregor tartan sash on saturday evening. It is a good looking, it had a lot more rust color in it than the sample shown in the picture. It is a good looking tartan.

I'll vote for the Ancient McGregor.
