Hey, I love his "label" (if you can really call it a label). The embroidery is really a nice touch of class!
Only one thing... it says "handwoven" on it. If that is Lochcarron's 16 oz strome, as you say it is, that's not handwoven. It's woven on great big giant mechanized looms in Lochcarron's mill. I'd hate to think what it would cost per yard if it was hand woven!!
Hnad woven cloth for kilting is something that you really have to go out of your way to find, and it's not cheap. I know a couple of weavers who could do it for you, and you are talking about well over $100 per yard (single width).
Anyway, great looking kilt and I'm glad you are enjoying it!

Beautiful kilt! I also love the embroided "label" very classy!
I'm not that fond of the solid black(?) waist band though.

Wow Mike, that is a gorgeous piece of work. I agree with Matt, I like the embroidered label. And I've never heard of a quadruple-fringe kilt. Was that a special request, or is it standard with WCK?

The waist band in black resulted from the fact that even though Rob ordered extra material he needed it all. As he explained it to me, when you split a double wide piece of material, there is usually a strip from the middle that is used for the waistband. In my case this strip was not available to use. The black waistband then is unusual, sort of like me but still kind of lovable!

It was not a special request, I don't know enough about kilt making to have asked for it. I also don't know if it is standard for Rob. I DO know that I really like it and if it is exclusive to me, it just adds to my uniqueness!
