    Beautiful kilt! I also love the embroided "label" very classy!

    I'm not that fond of the solid black(?) waist band though.

    The waist band in black resulted from the fact that even though Rob ordered extra material he needed it all. As he explained it to me, when you split a double wide piece of material, there is usually a strip from the middle that is used for the waistband. In my case this strip was not available to use. The black waistband then is unusual, sort of like me but still kind of lovable!

    I'll also use a solid black waistband on kilts that are very long, for the exact reason Mike said -- there isn't enough of the cloth left over after splitting the fabric to get a tartan waistband from. I'll also use a black waistband on kilts that I've had to let out (because the original tartan waistband is no longer long enough!).
