    Men in kilts..

Not all men CAN wear kilts. A man must be confident and self-assured since wearing a kilt is not the norm. Personally, and from a Woman's point of view, you haven't lived until you've had a kilt thrown over your bum.

Well, on wednesday, IV (a college group we all belong to) held the annual bonfire in order to welcome incoming students. I was there working the fire, and meeting some of the new people, when one of my kilt hating friends started making jokes about my mental stability. OK, so maybe I was moving burning logs with my bare hands, but no harm no foul, right?

So in response, I mentioned that she was the one who had an irrational fear of men's clothing (specifically, kilts). She replied "men shouldn't wear a dress" and immediately, four guys who were standing around the fire objected, and began to grill her about her disrespect for kilts. One of them even corrected me when I jokingly said that "it's not a dress, it's a skirt"

I was really quite surprised. Up until now all I had heard from people around here was curiosity ("why would you want to wear a kilt?") or rejection ("kilts are morally wrong and evil") so when four total strangers stood up for the kilt, I almost didn't believe it.

I'm not even wearing a kilt yet and already the response is positive.
Bah, wear your kilt and be proud of it. You weren't put on this planet to win a popularity contest... live by your own rules, not someone else's.

I wear the kilt daily and I'm proud of it. If people don't like it, that's too bad.. they'll have to deal with their own issues themselves. No matter where you go you're going to find differing opinions, and they're just opinions. Don't let it get you down.

That which is popular isn't always right. That which is right isn't always popular.
