While looking around my nearest town the other week, I spotted an antique silver kilt pin, the first I'd ever seen in the 'flesh'. 3 to 4 inch claymore, with a shield in the middle of the blade. Lovely looking pin, £12, so I'll save up Then yesterday on the net I spotted about four very similar antique, silver kilt pins, claymores with shields mid-blade, one with a lion's head and another with a saltire on it. All went for around £15-16 with p&p. Then in the one auction was a WW1 black watch army issue kilt, very battered and forlorn, moths and barbed wire had taken their toll, and it looked like it had spent the last eighty odd years on someone's garage floor! About four hours later, I spotted a Boer War, army issue black watch kilt, much better condition, and amongst the seller's other items were the belts, hose and underpants to go with it, go figure
