at the risk of offence ;)

Another "scottish" villan is "Fat B@st@rd" from the Austin Powers movies... yes, not exactly on thread here, I realise... for starters, he doesn't wear a kilt, and he's gross, and the movies are .... in questionable taste.

But the character is supposed to be Scottish.

    actually....

    Hi again

After someone suggested googling "scottish ninja's", I thought I'd google "hero" and "kilt".... and I got this link!

    http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/in...?id=1264462007

For those disinclined to read the article, the fellow in question ran down a thief, retrieved the stolen property, and then casually walked off...

    All kilted of course!

    Real Kilted hero's do exist.

    cheers

I think there's a very good reason you don't see many kilted superheroes (aside from the fact that their creators most likely aren't kilt enthusiasts) and it's really quite simple: Between all the flying, acrobatics, rope/web swinging, and high kicking action, it's gonna be pretty hard not to get a view of their secret weapon. And that would require some rather tricky angles to avoid it, and would still make it look silly when you know others have a clear view.

And if we do see it, they obviously have to put them in underwear which would be silly, or tights which would negate the need for a kilt.

Even without this, the people making the decisions would probably dismiss the idea because they don't think it would be taken seriously.

However, I could see it being done on a show like heroes, where no one wears the tights and most of them don't do all that flying and jumping and martial arts.
This is answered by #8 on Utilikilt's top 100 reasons to wear a kilt: "The extra element of surprise, when you have to kick someone in the head." So a kilt would actually be a handy weapon for a Superhero

Design your own Kilted Superhero. This is a link originally posted by Ozneath.

Actually, Fat Bastard wears a kilt in the first scene we see him in, as he's a defector from a Scottish Regiment of some sort...

Don't know of anyone else other than the Batman mentioned... I'll have to see if I can track down a copy of that comic.
