I dunno, I'm sure that it must be appealing to certain females. I mean, if they're addicted to the show then that can only be a plus, right?

My Lady Wife would be fine with the bridge, though perhaps not the cost...

I'm with you Rex, I'd never heard of steampunk either. I googled images as well and found them to be reminiscent of the old Riven and Myst games. True Scotsman though, why pay a quarter of a million dollars when you can it get for free in the john! (although I'm trying to picture Kirk on that particular captain's chair)

I once worked at a large treatment plant which had a huge transformer room that hummed at pretty close to the key of G. I could spends hours in there inventing and singing bagpipe style modal tunes.

As to the ladies...well...yeah...I'm STILL offering to buy my dear wife one of those T.O.S. series crew-woman uniforms....I even suggested that she might want to get one of those futuristic bee-hive hair-do's to go with it.

...hey...if they were good enough for Uhura and Nurse Chappell...

...for some reason, she's not interested.

Hey, everything important I needed to know I learned from the original Star Trek!

Appearances can be deceiving (Devil in the Dark)

There are two sides to every issue (Arena)

Laughter is the best medicine (Day of the Dove)

When everything else fails, bluff (The Corbomite Maneuver )

“having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting” (Amok Time)

“The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.” (Shore Leave)

Sometimes being illogical and going with your instinct is the most logical thing to do (The Galileo 7)

Under promise, over deliver (Most episodes featuring Lt. Commander Scott)

Humans are illogical, but this isn't always a bad thing! (All episodes)

    Cheers

Can you tell I have watched entirely too much Star Trek in my day.

As a member of the "Gamma Ray Club" back in my college days, a daily dose of the original ST series was a requirement (TNG was a long way off at this point).

I think the TNG bridge would be the better design for a theatre...the chairs were certainly more comfortable.

That one should always check the invasive species list before adding to the ecosystem... even if it is pretty. See Trumpet Vine as an example.
