To hear my Grandparents talk, Catholic & Irish are the same thing. "S/he's as Irish as Paddy's pigs" was the final pronouncement on any Catholic being discussed. (Of course ALL Lutherans were German; "They go to that German Church down the road" )... 'Ecumenical' was an unknown word back then.

I've met many people that use Greek and Othodox interchangeably. Russian, Antiochan, Romanian, it doesn't matter... if it's Orthodox, it's Greek.

Yeah, I freak out alot of ethnic clergy who are trying to figure out what "people" I belong to.

Finally one said, "Anglo-Saxon!"
