    I don't understand the dates of Edward as Prince of Wales in the photo.

    He did not cease to be Prince of Wales in 1891 but remained so until his accession on 22nd January 1901 when Queen Victoria died.

    You're right about that.
    I must have cut part of the text out by accident, though. The picture was taken on 1st January 1891.
