I have two budget MacKenzie kilts. I have Mackenzie ancestry which I honour with a 13 oz wool weathered Mackenzie, but the standard MacKenzie tartan is widely available in cheap kilts from the tourist shops here in Scotland and I wear these for casual wear. I bought a lightweight polycotton Mackenzie in a tourist shop while I was on holiday, for £45. The material is very soft and comfortable, in fact too soft as after a couple of days wearing it was already beginning to pill where the sporran chain rubbed on it. A few weeks later one of the Gold Brothers shops which sells on e-bay reduced the price of their PVC 5-yard kilt in some tartans including MacKenzie, and I bought one of those for just £25. Each gets their turn of being worn.
