I didn't make the white line disappear - Gordon Kirkbright of Fraser & Kirkbright did. The last run of XMTS tartan (the third major run) was different than the previous runs in two essential aspects: 1) it was done in 16 oz weight, and 2) the weaver reworked the layout to take the white line off the selvedges because of the color "bleed" caused by the blue threads turning back into the white area.
My XMTS kilt was done in 13 oz tartan from the second run.
