    Actually, the military V necks I have seen all have the tab. Incidently, in the Army that spot is where you put your name tag, and I believe the unit insignia (It's been a while, but I believe that's what I put there).

    Commando Sweaters with badge patches

    I have a US Army Black sweater. It was issue a few years ago when I was on active duty. It has the shoulder epaulets and elbow patches. It also had a sewn on badge patch. I wanted it to look less military so I carefully clipped the stitches holding the badge patch. It came off easily in about 5 minutes.

    It has the vee neck too.
