3 Repeats of the cable pattern done, which translates as about 1/3 of the cuff... If I am eyeballing the work right. Not bad for being medicated yet again, tis too cold for Stringy's poor lungs. If not too cold, too windy, we've had 5-10 MPH winds with temperatures in the teens all week.

Aye, BH, I agree. I have want hose such as those (and many other things) through Matt's posts/blog (and, again, the posts of others). There is one thing I have learned over my short time here at the rabble: A jones is bad enough, but when you're jonesing for things with no foreseeable time line for them arriving, it's even worse!!!

You have a great teacher right there, have String teach you to knit. A family that knits together stays together or something like that.

I agree! My mama taught me to knit, now I knit better than her. I would be happy to teach Yeti to knit, he is unwilling to try because he expected to be a master at it on the first go.

I do not expect to be a master the first time. I simply expected to make my big broken hands work a little better.
I'll stick with shooting, writing, and video games, for now. Maybe boxing and caber throwing in the future.

What is this? one very awkwardly modeled sock, on a leg waaay to small for it. The important part is that it is a finished sock, and all I have left to do is knit the cuff on the other sock and give them a bit o' a wash and block and they will be done.
Taunting? why yes, yes I am.
