Bonnet knitting patterns?
Are there any patterns to make a hand knited Balmoral style bonnet?
The Hose thread got my beady mind going again on my desire for a "real" woven/knitted Bonnet!

I don't know if you'd be able to find a Balmoral style, but there should be something out there. Woodsheal recently hooked me up with links to places with patterns, and places to buy finished clothing. It's older styled, so it may be a bit more suited to re-enactment, but the bonnets look really neat.

Here are some jacket patterns... but I am thinking that they might have some other patterns around... it'd be worth asking them:

If you wouldn't be opposed to buying a hand knitted, I am sure these guys have one as well.

Perhaps some of the folks who run the above organizations might be able to help point you in the right direction if you are dead set on making your own. This is the best help I can lend, hopefully, I didn't waste your time!

I found instructions for knitting a Bonnet at this site: http://www.scotwars.com/html/equip_bonnetpattern.htm
Not a knitter, have absolutely no experience with these instructions, but this may be helpful.
