I enjoy economy kilts for given purposes.
“Cheapo”, “cheapie” and “things” are not words that I would use to describe them.
Not when I mean compared to an 8 yd 16 oz bespoke job, which is what I am used to. The one I bought in 1985 still is good. It's like wearing a suit from a low end store compared to a custom tailor.
Are these anything which is of substance, or something that I wear a couple of times and toss?

I have one kilt from him and I wear it once a year on March 17th *no prizes for guessing the tartan*...![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
His customer service is good but don't expect superb quality for the money.

Two important notes:
1. The waist-to-fell is not tapered. It will stay on, but don't expect a proper fit. It's sized for your waist, so that means that since it's built like a pipe, the pleats will be stretched tightly across your posterior, probably won't hang well. Order one 2 inches too big in the waist and the butt will fit better.
2. It's acrylic. Light and flammable.

All I'll say is this, the Instakilt beach towel will set you back $20+. Knowing the work that goes into making even a casual kilt what quality do you expect to get in a kilt that only sells for $10 more than a beach towel?
Personally I would rather have the towel, at least it's useful for something.

Ok, dont compare Mr. Fredonline's cheapo kilt there to a Stillwater. It may be acrylic brethren but there is no comparing the quality. I paid nearly 80 bucks for for my Freddy special. It took so long to get here, and I read such good things about Stillwater that I ordered. 2 days later and, bang, I own a stillwater standard. Wore it to the games and was quite pleased. 2 weeks later freddy kilt finally shows up with cheapo piece of junk sporran in tow. Both are crap. That might offend someone, but it is just my opinion. I was so disappointed in the kilt after having a stillwater. Now that I have a handsewn kilt I am disappointed in the stillwater. Thats just how it goes. Each kilt has their place. And as to Fred having perfect feedback, he doesnt lie about what he is selling. Nothing in his add is false, he just does a good job of advertising a low quality kilt. I could not post negative feedback when he delivered what I ordered. It was my fault that I didnt do more homework!

I dont understand why people keep seeing this as a problem... A lot of clothes these days are flamable. So long as you know its acrylic, you know to stay away from naked flames.
When I was younger, my parents put me in loads of 'shell suits' and other plastic clothing, and despite my perpetual facination with fire, I never once set myself ablaze in a plastic suit. (I did set myself ablaze using methylated spirits once, but knowing I was camping and playing with fire, I'd had the sence to dress in cotton!)
Common to what a lot of people will say an Acrylic kilt is not hazardus to your health, stupidity is.
As for these kilts, there is another ebay vendor that sells something similar, 'edges of time' I checked their location and as it happens, I drive past their wearhouse every day! I'm planning on giving them a call to see if I can have a look at their stuff and give people a review if they like.
