Well, it wasn't today, but here's a recent random act of kindness from a stranger:

Monday this week I left work early on account of some unrelenting digestive cramps. Knowing that foul weather was coming, I stopped at the grocery store to lay in a couple supplies. In the parking lot, a down-and-outer approached me and clearly had something to say to me. I thought he was going to ask me for a hand-out. Instead, he asked, "You work downtown, don't you?"

"I do," I said, feeling suspicious.

"I've seen you down there, and I have to say you are the sharpest dresser there is." Of course, I have to presume he was talking about my suits and not my kilts.

"Well, thank you for saying so!" I said, loading my sacks into the trunk, now feeling foolish for jumping to conclusions.

    Regards,
    Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Ha! At least it wasn't like the time I was wearing my bonnet (no kilt, was in **GASP** jeans ) and this girl starts walking beside me.

She says to me "I really like your hat."

    To which I reply "thanks."

Then she adds "could you loan me $5.00" !!??!!
