The mantra we have so often - or at least used to hear often - on these boards is "Know your Tartan."

The Black Watch has represented many brave fighting men, including the 42nd and 73rd Regiment(s) of Foot before the Childers Reform, as well as the current incarnation.

The have a long and storied service. To ignore all of that in favor of one action is a disservice to the unit and what it really represents.
    Well said Streetcar.

Personally I am quite fond of the Black Watch. I think it is a beautiful design and I just really like the look of it a lot.
Plus, it goes with almost anything!

    OK, of course, of course.
But I'm sure you will understand that my question wasn't one of looks, style nor design... unfortunately, things are not always that simple.

I don't think that is the Black Watch tartan...

    Here's Black Watch:

    And here is Forbes:

Similar, but Forbes has the white stripe, as your picture seems to have.

The white had to be added otherwise it was too dark to see.

But doesn't that defeat the purpose? You're not the Forbes Scenario Paint Ball Team, you're the Black Watch.

Well, after I got it fixed and re-uploaded to photobucket you cant see the original with the white striping that Beloitpiper pointed out to me. However it is fixed now. I only need to fix the main logo on our team's site and all should be good. Thanks for your assistance in pointing that out Beloitpiper!

I myself really like the Black Watch tartan. If every Militarty unit that has done or been accused of doing something terrible was disliked for that act, there would be few respected units. I grew up around the Gordon tartan, so the Black Watch stuck in my mind as a very nice tartan. When I get the pennies saved to buy a tank, I think I will most likely go with the Black Watch.
