I'm coming late to this thread, but I would like to add my 1.46 cents worth.

I just counted my hose. I have thirty + (I don't know how many are in the wash.) My wife has been strictly schooled. She knows not to put any of my hose in the dryer. She (and I on occassion) only washes them in cold water and then hangs to dry.

Actually around here I do my own laundry (I have my quirks about how I like my things washed &/or dried). The only other hose I have (tan colored wool-blend) I also wash cold & hang dry

Early on in our marriage, we came to an agreement - I would handle all the big items and my wife would take care of everything else. I decide when we will go to war with red china and she handles all the other matters.

But in every argument, I always get the last word - - - "Yes, dear!"
