I own two kilts right now. An AK and a SWK. I wear the kilt every now and again now, however, as I obtain more kilts, I will wear them more often. I just don't have enough to keep the wardrobe "fresh" right now. It would be like wearing the same pair of pants day in and day out.

I have three pants hanging in the closet(the rest are uniforms), but I am in the Milatary and its hard to sell the idea of kilts sometimes.

I wear pants to school and around the house. I'm not always kilted, though I may be in the future, but not now.

    Klited vs Trousered

I work in trousers as required under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. So to work I go in Levis and steel toed boots, and long sleeved cotton shirt. The hard hat and vis vest live in my locker for those rare occasions that I am required to wear them. For some business events I wear a sport coat and dress trousers, the rest of them I attend kilted. All of my evenings and days off are kilted.

I wear kilts to formal occasions, and when I get excuses to (sporting events, highland games, etc), but that's still not very often. For the amount of time I wear kilts, I probably have more than I need. (2 AK 1 UK 1SWK standard, 2 wool traditional, and some SWK cheapies that i bought for the heck of it with the SWK standard, but which I've never worn)

I primarily wear pants, but I think the kilt is a snazy piece of clothing which has tradition and significance, and i say more power to you if you chose to wear them all the time.

I Wear pants more than my kilt just because at the time I only have one.
Plus for things like work and climbing vertical surfaces(which is something I do often) A kilt isn't necessarily the garment of choice.
Plus I do sometimes like wearing a good pair of jeans.

Would you care to explain your meaning behind this statement, Jay? I'm not quite sure I follow you.

Horses for courses and all that. One does not have to wear the kilt full-time to be a kiltie (to those who do, I say "Guid on ya", even though I choose not to!)

I'm in pretty much the same boat, I wear the kilt on special occasions mainly. Work does not let us wear even shorts, and while around construction equipment and climbing in and out of trenches, testing concrete and such I think that jeans or carhartts make a much better choice in my line of work. My wife (and parents) like my kilt wearing, so no problem there, just don't wear it as often as some on this site do.
