kilted amongst the living today

Well I finally did it today. After making one or two sneaky little outings with family and friends by night, I finally went out kilted amongst the living today. We had to take our 6 month old daughter for her jabs so went there first then my lovely wife decided it was shopping trip time so did Best Buy and Wal Mart in my Nightstalker, Nightstalker sporran and black t-shirt. I also made the last minute decision to go regimental and all I can say is Wow! I got the occasional double take (ok, the wife tells me that 95% of people gave me double takes) and had three oh-so-cool teenage boys giving a little snigger but I'm well and truly hooked on going out kilted now. I guess what helped me was acting like I do it every day and not looking to see what other people's reactions were.

It was definitely a different experience (and more enjoyable in its own way) than just wearing my kilt for an evening get-together
