[QUOTE=kiltedinUSMC;525730] Did you know that the White House stone walls were set by scottish stone masons?
My Great Grandfather was a mason in DC.. There is an anecdote that runs through the family that said he won a contract to build a wing of the capital building. When the Masons in Ireland found out about it, he was invited to Ireland to receive an award. On the way home, he fell off the boat and drowned. I am currently researching this thru the Architect of the Capitol's history office. But I do know that a good many of the masons were of irish descent. We could go on all day about what to see in DC. Take in as much as you can. But remember why you are there.
