Berserk Sporran MKII Finished
After seeing all of the beautiful Rob Roy style sporrans on this forum I started to jones for one of my own. After a certain forum member inquired as to why I have never made myself a black sporran when I do leather work, I took that as a challenge and kicked my but into gear. I love the versatility of the Thorfinn but being as I already own all the gear to build my own sporrans, I wanted to make my own. I contacted Turpin and he graciously allowed me to "steal" his snap flap idea. He is a gentleman and a scholar. Let me say this right now, DO NOT contact me about making a snap flap sporran for you. I wont do it, but he will and will do a wonderful job. That is Turpins original idea, and all the rights to it are his. Now if you want a sporran, sans snap-flap I would consider bartering off my work.
Now, this is made out of a lighter leather than Thorfinn's and other comparable Rob Roy's are. I would have liked to use a bit thicker of a leather but I ALWAYS have this on hand because it is great for all kinds of projects. Anyway, its not perfect but I still like it.

All the seams under stress on this thing are hand sewn with the only machine stitches in this puppy being on the rolled edges and the inner pocket (which is removable so I can swap in my custom pipe pocket or design a new one). I also designed it to attach with a solid sporran belt or the clip type that I make.
Comments and constructive criticism welcome

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

That's a fine looking sporran. Do you take orders? I'd like to own one of those.

Let me say this, I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL. Leather work is just a hobby of mine. I will do custom sporran orders but my leather work is greatly at the mercy of my school work. That being said, I do have enough of that garment weight leather lying around to turn out another sporran similar to this one. Right now I have another commissioned sporran that I just purchased some supplies for and that one will probably take me 2 weeks to churn out because it is DRASTICALLY different from what I usually do. I look forward to the challenge. If you are wanting a sporran in any sort of time crunch I would suggest hitting up Turpin at Thorfinn or Freelander, but if you dont mind waiting about a month from the time you order, to sporran in hand then I would be happy to make one for you.
PM me if my long winded post didnt scare you away and we will talk turkey. ![Razz](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)

Berserk, that looks pretty darn sweet! One of these days I'll get around to doing my own sporran, also...

Fantastic! I am simply amazed at the talent shown here. You know, I thought that I might try my hand at a sporran, but after seeing this, there's NO WAY I could ever approach this level of talent.
Bravo!![Clap](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/clap.gif) ![Clap](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/clap.gif)
