Thanks. I read the threads,
The long awaited Kilt Jacket,
Introducing - The Tweed Kilt Cut Sport Coat,
as well as,
Bridging the gap between ultra-casual and ultra-formal
and they are very interesting; I'll keep those in mind. They actually have a lot of useful information that is helping me understand kilt jackets better.
Kind of feel like I don't belong in the PCs and other jackets, , and you talked about that a bit.

If he can do it, so can we!
Well, as he would say to me "needle nadle nu!!"

All I know is that reading those threads helped me a lot with this whole... mental struggle with the jackets for kilts.
Don't know if that is the way I will go, but it is that idea that I was looking for in a jacket. On top of that, I just bought two very nice sweater vests at a Good Will store, and I think they would go very well with a kilt cut sport jacket and a kilt.
I've put aside any plans for buying more kilts until I can get the jacket situation seddled.

right you are, Ted. There's no need for your jacket to have any bits of business that you don't like.
The cryptic post just above from Duke of Kircaldy shows a photo of Prince Charles in a tweed jacket with no epaulets, regular old cuffs, and plain flaps on the pockets.

Oh! Thanks for describing that! I will have to keep a link to that post in my files.

It showed, which is why it was cryptic. Charles is also a fan of the goons (one of his bondings with Camilla): which is the source of "needle nadle noo".
Wizard, I tried looking on the Freedomkilts site to get info on the plain jackets, but couldn't find any. It's probably a whole lot easier to buy one from you than to lurk on UK eBay hoping one turns up in the proper size and acceptable colour.

I don't want to speak for The Wizard, but I saw a thing saying that the kilt accessorie section of the web sight was being constructed and took that to mean that right now it couldn't be viewed or accessed. I've read that the web site was being reconstructed. Take a look at those links I posted back there; I'm sure there's pictures there.
I think I have the brown corduroy day wear jacket and vest that will work for a conversion. I just need to find a different person to convert it. The vest needs to be made a little bit larger around, but I was told that would be possible. It would probably be best to give that a try before looking for something else.
Oddly, I have five suits in my closet that are all very nice... Not sure how that happened...

UK eBay has them, the one which started this thread went for £51 (US$102). Usual price is more around £20-30. The ones on UK eBay are usually small and in revolting patterns, which is probably the reason for the high price. This would may have been too small for me.
I do agree with Ted that the jackets with all the bells and whistles seem a bit formal. I just bought a very nice black tweed braemar from Rocky at USAKilts which feels dressier to me than I thought it would. I had seen a charcoal at the store, which I liked. This feels like my barathea Argyll jacket without the silvery buttons. Plenty of places to wear it, but I would like something which feels less formal to me for just plain day wear. An anorak seems a bit out of place with highland wear.

Here is a picture of a sport jacket conversion to the plain waist jacket type.

Ya, ChattanCat, sometimes it makes more sense to try to have what you already have converted if it is close to what you want, than to have a jacket made from scratch... Hopefully I can get someone to look at the pictures I have links to and do the conversion from that. Thanks for posting the picture.
