Running Kilted in MN
Greetings kilted community!
I'm a Montessori teacher in Minnesota, USA, but that's not where I don my kilt. I'm a proud weekend kilt wearer.
Not incidentally, this is not the first kilted community that I have ever joined. I am also a member of the Society of Kilted Hashers. The Hash House Harriers is a world wide drinking club with a running problem. A few of us run the hash in kilts.
Recently someone over at the Society mentioned how cool it would be if the hash had its own tartan. This sparked my imagination and so I go the ball rolling on designing a tartan of our very own. At the time of writing, we have designed two tartans that have garnered widespread support from the hashing community. We have registered them with the STA, are choosing thread colors for samples, and negotiating with kilt makers. As we are a running club, we are probably going to have them produced in poly/viscose fiber.
I keep coming up with questions that I can usually figure out by surfing the internet and these forum pages. Lately I have been coming up with more detailed questions that I bet you masters will be able to help me out with. I have also learned a bit along the way, so when appropriate, I will give back to this kilted community.

Both tartans look great. My personal preference would be for the one on the right, but I'd wear either one.

Salutations from sunny California.
I think the one on the left is the better of the two. The colors may not be everyone's cup of tea but it (1) is distinctive, and (2) seems less busy the second tartan.
Look around, ask questions, share your experiences, but most of all...
Have Fun!
Cheers
