I'll offer some advice here.
My first kilt was a 5 yarder in lightweight wool and I bought it for my wedding. It looked fine in pictures. But, when you boil it down, the kilt is not very good at all. It's far too light, and the low yardage only increases this.
Were it me, and I were needing a GOOD kilt, in that tartan, for $250, I would contact USA Kilts. Their banner is in the top left of every page here. They don't have the hunting version of the MacMillan. BUT, they do have the MacMillan tartan. You could have one of their semi-tradtional kilts, in 11 oz. PV, for $220-250 (depening on the hip size.) They offer a rush order for an additional $35, and that gets your kilt out the door in two weeks.
In my opinion, this is your ONLY reasonable option given the budget and time frame. GOOD LUCK!
