Ok Thanks, TB.
I guess I confused Hamish's blue Saltire kilt, with some imaginary XMTS tartan I made up myself...
thanks again.

I have seven tartan kilts and one tartan great kilt:
MacIntyre Hunting Modern: My surname. I wear this for Highland games.
MacIntyre Hunting Ancient: My surname. This is my great kilt for Ren Fests.
MacIntyre Clan Modern: My surname. I wear this for (semi-) formal wear.
Buchanan Hunting Modern: My father's mother's mother was a Gibb. I think the colors are great!
MacGregor: This was the first kilt I ever wore and bought it from my lender. It is pleated to line. I wear it for piping competitions and gigs. I'm wearing it in my avatar.
Black Watch (WPG): I bought this to help a friend with temporary financial troubles. I would not have bought it otherwise, but I've grown to love it, especially when I want to wear my badger-mask sporran and red-and-white diced hose. I wear this military weight in the wintertime in the evenings.
Campbell of Breadalbane Modern: This was a special weave to get the modern version. It was worn by the Highland poet Duncan Ban MacIntyre, who was with the Breadalbane Fencibles.
Cameron of Erracht: I wear this for piping, evening wear, war games, and I will use this for my 70th NY Camerons. I think this is a handsome tartan, too.
Possible Future Purchases:
MacKenzie (Seaforth Highlanders): I want the box-pleat in a military kilt for piping.
MacPherson: My mother's mother was one!

This made me do some thinking. Any new tartan kilts I acquire will have a connection, some how.
I currently have
MacLaren Modern (first purchase because of a connection) from Jerry at SWK; I'm a Scout Leader and have completed the Wood Badge training, so my neckerchief has a patch of MacLaren tartan and I'm eligible for special membership in the Clan MacLaren Society of North America; Also - MacLaren means son of Lawrence and my godfather was a Lawrence
Black Watch (from ebay - just too good of a deal to pass up)this was sewn in the late 60's; it's a heavy military weight
Black Stewart (before I knew what I was doing) this and the unknown below I purchased at the fabric store without knowing what they were. I made my own kilt from this fabric - my first one
Unknown tartan (before I knew what I was doing) I've tried to identify this tartan, but have been unable to. I bought this from a fabric store and I use it as my great kilt. I purchased too much length though. I can cut enough to make a 6 yard kilt, and still have enough material that I can continue wearing it as a great kilt. Hmmmm - one piece of fabric, but I can get two kilts.
On my wish list (in order)
US Army I served with the Army Reserve for 10 years, including active duty time for the first Gulf War
Prince of Wales - selected as the Imperial Highlander tartan (for the 501st Kilted Trooper Brigade) - it looks good with Stormtrooper armor
Notre Dame - I am a graduate; unfortunately, this is not available to alumni - only available to those actively participating in the Bagpipe band, Irish guard, etc. (I don't think they get to keep their kilts)
American Heritage - I live in the USA
X Marks - I like the people here and I like the tartan
Minnesota - I live in Minnesota, born and raised here as well; it is a unique looking tartan with the lighter green and purple

Too bad there isn't an Airborne tartan or an 82nd (more specifically) tartan. That would be one I'd want too.

I wear the Ross Hunting, because I am a Ross.
I got a kilt in the New York City tartan, as a gesture of support, after 9/11; my Father was also born in New York, on Staten Island.
Lastly, I wear the Ryan O. Ross tartan, because it was too relevant to pass up!

OK, I'll throw my lot in too . Now these are just on my wish list, as I do not own a kilt . . yet . At any rate, here is my list and, in the order of precedence:
These 2 are the first on my "wish list" (if I purchase no others, these 2 are a must for me):
MacNeil of Barra-Ancient (my paternal family's connections and, I'm a proud member)
Firefighter Memorial Tartan (because of my 19 years of service as a Firefighter and Engine Company Officer)
These are . . well, whenever I get them:
MacKay-Ancient (I'm also a member)
MacCallum (maternal Grandfather, he was a Malcolm)
Clark (maternal Grandmother, she was a Clark)
MacPherson (maternal Grandmother, Clark is a Sept of Clan MacPherson)
Wood (paternal 2nd Great Grandmother was a Wood)
Scottish National (just because)
Irish National (my family's Ancient Irish connections, as well as my wife's Irish heritage)
Black Watch (of course, I have to "jump" on the bandwagon)
etc. etc. (who knows where it'll stop with me :mrgreen

I wear Gow hunting (Smith), because I live on a farm that came to me by way of maternal grand parents, and Granny's maiden name (and the farm) came from Smith's, and because if I am not qualified to wear a "smith" tartan, no one is (I've made a living with a hammer and fire for 20 years now).
My surname is Clark, which as far as I can find out is claimed as a sept of MacPherson (as is Smith), so I also wear MacPherson tartan. (my father in law is a Presbyterian minister, so it works literally, as well).
I also have a Newsome box pleat in Leslie hunting, 'cause it got it on e-bay as MoD surplus cloth (woven by Robert Noble) and it is very nice fabric, and dark, so dirt doesn't show on it to bad when I work in it. And wool is very heat resistant. Even better than cotton duck or denim for withstanding sparks/scale from forging.
I'd get a kilt in "Clark" tartan, except it is the same sett as "clergy", and I don't want anyone making that mistake in labeling me. (not that anyone would)
I have been thinking about a Chattan tartan kilt lately, but the colors do not thrill me, unfortunately.
And speaking of Chattan, whenever Wally gets it done, I will have modern MacDonald kilt, because of the friendship of a particular MacDonald, who gifted me the cloth. I will wear it proudly to honor that friendship.

I have a great kilt in, well, a blue plaid (generic), that I bought back in '96.
My wee kilt is hand made by ...Culaidh Gasda down in Eugene, Oregon in '98 from Davidson tartan (modern) woven in Scotland. 8 yards, I dinna ken the ounces after so many years. A very nice 100% wool traditional.
My very good friend Wolfgore is supposed to be building me and my twin two of his custom kilts in the US Army DSU three color camo patterns for our service in Iraq.
