So, out of curiousity, did any of us actually make it there? I know I didn't. Too many things going on here...

Not me. My wife got called out of town, and I had to stay with the kids. Thought about bringing them up, but I didn't think they'd fair the drive and the weather very well.

Everyone who is going, please say "hi" to the delightful Rod and Ruth at the Clan MacKenzie tent. We'll see the rest of you at the Great PNW games in Enumclaw and of course welcome you all to the MacKenzie AGM and clan gathering at the Kelso WA games in September.

I was lucky enough to make it to Bellingham for the first time. It was a great weekend. I got in late on Saturday and competed in the games on Sunday, so I did not get to see everything. Luckily the games were next to the great field and I got to see and hear most of the pipe bands. Hearing that many pipes playing in unison during the mass band was incredible. Amazing grace brought tears to the eyes of most. This was my first games competition, and thanks to a great coach I took first overall and my brother took third overall. Bellingham and Ferndale, thanks for hosting us. See you all, and maybe get to meet some of you in person at many of the Washington and Oregon gatherings this season. I will be at the Prosser, Washington games next.

I plan to be at the Whidbey games this year... Done it twice so far, once in '04, and once in '05. Planned to go the past couple years, but either didn't have enough cash on hand, or I'd twisted an ankle...
