My grandmother was a Taylor, a sept of Cameron. So, for my first "made-for-me" kilt I got Cameron Hunting Weathered. I will enclose a pic of the tartan....if I can figure it out. (Having said that, I wouldn't be limited in my choice based on my family, but in this case my taste in tartan and family happened to coincide. Happily so.)
Not an easy tartan to find in the 16/17oz weight. But my kiltmaker managed to get hold of enough fabric. It is indeed a handsome kilt. Heavy with an incredible feel and swing.
I would consider getting a kilt in the Taylor tartan, but some of the versions of the tartan are a bit...erm...extreme in their choice of tone...or colour. I will keep looking though. Also, Cameron Hunting is very nice. Brighter blue and green but really great.
