I think some of these ideas have been mentioned, so my apologies for any redundancy...

So I was focusing on 2.25" wide, non-leather. Some of these, I think, could be modified to work like a standard kilt belt, but sewing throught the material may or may not be an option, depending on your sewing machine.

This says it's only 2" wide, but are economical, and look nice:

But this one looks the same, but says the "outer" belt is 2.25" wide, and has a second, inner belt

For the price, might not be a bad option to try out.

So after all that, I think I'm gonna try my DIY one first, and if that fails, I'll probably start with that one from "hardware and tools" or the one from major surplus n survival, and see how they go. If I get to any of this in the near future, I'll be sure to post my experiences.

cheers all!

Jeff,

I wear the outer and inner duty belt for work. The inner belt is nylon with fuzzy velcro on the outside, and worn through the belt loops on the trousers.
The outer belt holds all the grea - radio, flashlight, holster, ammo, tazer, etc. The hook velcro is on the inside and it velcros to the inner belt worn through the pants. I'm not sure how this would addapt to a kelt, but I doubt you want all that bare velcro snagging your good kelt.

My advice would be to go to a climbing shop, purchase what ever length of heavy web nylon that you need, and add a buckle.
