Jock, I didn't see any hallmarks on it, but I can look again. And, since my wife's Mum was from Watford, Hertfordshire, I would say that it is highly likely that it is from the UK! I wonder if there is a good way of telling whether it is silver. It has a slight tarnish to it, but nothing that stands out to me that it is all silver. The tarnish could just be because it is old. Any definitive way to tell for sure?
