I'm so glad someone else has found The red hot chilli pipers too, they're great aren't they?
Tartan, what tartan? I've seen them in black kilts, didn't cross my mind it could be a shadow tartan.

I came across a blown up picture and it does look like a Shadow Tartan of some sort...maybe i'll just ask them when i them in Hartford on the 28th of Sept.
