I suspect Sister will get a kick out of the whole event. Nuns, really do have a great sense of humor.
St. Andrews Priory at Valyermo near Palmdale CA have an Annual Fall Festival. Part of the entertainment is "Nuns for fun" Featuring "Nuns" -mostly Baptists, in habits who with "Monsignor Elvis"(!) sing Hit songs adjusted with Religious content. "The Lion Sleeps tonight" becomes "The Christ-Child sleeps tonight" etc. They are very popular with the crowds, are excellent singers, and the real Nuns are in hysterics for most of the acts. Usually the last weekend in September. The whole place rocks, it is a great time!

I'm sure that my friend would not be the one embarrassed. I was thinking of myself , since this might add to her perception that I'm even more of a kook than she knew, given my new "addiction" to wearing kilts.

It has been my experience also that both Nuns and Monks have great senses of humor. At a church festival there was a food booth selling fish and chips run by the Franciscans. One was asked if he were the "fish fryer (friar) and replied, no, I am the Chip Monk.

Agreed. They helped form my sense of humor and I owe them a debt of gratitude!
