Sorry for assuming it was a semi-traditional, should have looked at the site first, as they only have Ferguson modern in the PV. The ancient colors look good against the black polo. Still wondering about the boots, I've never seen anything like them before.

No worries. And I really like this tartan better than the modern. Only problem is now I also want one in the weathered tartan.

did the purchase of your cladish satisfy your thirst for the earth tones in the ferguson weathered? i've been seeing a lot of photos of the weathered and i'm wanting one in a bad way now, too. i may set my sites on one for next autumn.

    Irish,

I love the Cladish. It's a good looking casual plaid in my opinon and I am once again really pleased with Rocky's work.

However the Ferguson weathered is still a goal. I really appriciate the hang of a wool kilt and the muted earthy colors. I just need to put the cash together, ya know.

looking back at your original post with what was at the time your new ferguson ancient, those colors just pop right out of the photo. that's a great tartan to be wearin' now at christmas.

if possible, please post some holiday photos of you in the ancient with your wyvern sporran. if i can't have a fergus ancient, i can at least enjoy yours, can't i? much appreciated.

    thanks, fergy.

    nice one, socalferg!

from one fergus to another, what made you choose the ancient over the modern? i'm planning a substantial purchase and i'm leaning towards the modern? just wondering what your thought process was, or what it is about the ancient that made you pull the trigger?

    Irish,
Greetings. My personal choice related to Ferguson Modern vs Ancient, and for what was for me also a considerable financial outlay, was one I pondered for some time. I already had a ‘casual’ kilt in modern and when considering and investment in a quality kilt, the modern just struck me as to dark (color wise). If just felt the Ancient color scheme just stood out more effectively and ‘represented’ Ferguson a bit more boldly (my humble opinion).
    Hope this helps.

Nice kilt. The shirt and tankers make a great look.
