Now that I have been released from slavery, I am able to publish a few photos of my own!

First, a soundcheck and Derek tests on of the mics while Lesley hits a top note!:

Once satisfied that the technical bits and pieces are up to scratch, Derek joins his wife Elaine, Pete and John for a run-through:

Next day (Saturday) was THE day. The Church Hall concert began at 2.30pm and finished at Midnight. Running parallel from 7.30pm to 9.00pm was a concert in St. Augustine's church itself which I was priviledged (if not forced) to compere.

Later, back in the church hall, Pete, John, Elaine and Derek (John is on drums behind Derek) gave a fine performance:



This was the first Folk Festival to be organised by the Rumney (a suburb of Cardiff) Folk Club which has been going from strength to strength in the past few years under the superb leadership of Derek and Elaine. Judging by the great success this time, it will be the first of many similar events in coming years ........ I believe I have already been booked for the next Festival on 5th September 2009!
