I wouldn't think there would be a great difference between your 11 oz and a 13 oz. Go for the 16 oz and you'll have a summer kilt and a winter kilt from WV!
...and here's a thought...no matter how heretical: if the kilt isn't warm enough, you can always wear something warm underneath it...really...just like if you're getting a rash from the scratchy wool rubbing...there's an easy solution and it's called underwear. No dishonor in wearing underwear when it's needed.
