I don't know how practical this is, but ask for a swatch of the jacket material. Even if the charge you US$20 or so, it would be a good investment, as a verbal description, or what you see on the computer screen is not an accurate guide to actual colour. I agree that the Lovat Green would be a logical choice. But you might also want to consider something more neutral, as charcoal gray.

I agree with Carolina Kiltman. A swatch of the jacket material if it is available would be a good idea. It can save a lot of time when looking for accessories. When I was in the corporate game, I carried a swatch from all my suits with me when I would shop for dress shirts and ties.
I would lean toward the charcoal gray for a first purchase since it is more versatile than the Lovat Green would be.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I am planning a trip to a few charity shops to see what jackets I can find with the intention of doing a DIY job as well.
Might build up quite a wardrobe at this rate
Cheers

Marchbrae (a.k.a. The Woollen Mill) on High Street has a contemporary-style charcoal tweed jacket and waistcoat.
Take a look here: https://www.marchbrae.co.uk/acatalog...Waistcoat.html
Visit the shop and take a look at the jacket.

Hello Jon,
You say you're in the market for two. 1) Lovat green tweed Argyle jacket and waistcoat. 2) Charcoal tweed Argyle jacket and waistcoat. Also do you think you'll be attending anything of a formal nature, if so you might want tae scratch one of the tweeds in favour of a black barathea Argyle (not sure what's in your lineup). Also day sporrans can be had for relatively cheap so why not one brown and one black. You didn't mention if your kilts are in modern colours or ancient. If modern I would definately go with a charcoal tweed as opposed tae the lovats of any shade really. If the latter nothing finer than the lovat green tweed. Again this is merely my opinion.
Yours Aye,
Sean
