My wife and her friends (3 sisters) will be entering the local Holloween Parade again this year. They have won something every year they enter. So, I will be watching from the sidelines and encouraging them. I do not dress in costume because I have no more imagination. If I wear my kilt, it will be for me, no one else.

No kilt for me. I get waaay to serious looking when I wear one.

41 years of costumes, and counting.

I'm going as a flying squirrel this year.

Not too long ago I tried this look for Halloween. Lets me wear a kilt without making a tartan kilt into a costume. Sort of a "confused" look for a mental health agency. Fortunately, no clients were triggered by it.

Another year I did the kilted Viking thing (yes I know about the horned helmets) which again let me be kilted and not use a tartan kilt as a costume.

Bottom line, I don't think wearing a kilt - particularly a contemporary kilt - has to turn an honored garment into a costume. Its okay to have a little fun too.

Halloween is the one day I insist on wearing pants. This year I think I'll wear breeks, tattersall shirt, and a bow tie.

Well the original reason i got my Black UK was to be part of my Ren fest Pirate Costume (since i can't stand draw string pants) and i've worn that costume for two years white taking the wee one Trick or Treating, so it will be worn this year as well.

It was only after i got it that i found it so comfortable that i wear it every chance i get and when i get more kilts probably SWK's since everone raves about Jerry, i'll start wearing them more often. Bible belt be dammed.

Ron's B&W is really great. He even did the B&W for the beard/hair combo.

    Hello all,
I myself see the kilt as an article of clothing not something tae play dress up in. Furthermore I will wear a kilt anydae of the week nae matter if it's just a plain auld Mondae or a Holidae o sum sort. I know what ye mean though. Being kilted on Halloween seems tae cheapen the kilt or should I sae it brings about the feeling of disrespect. Ancestors have fought and died for many things including the right tae wear the kilt. That being said maybe trews shuld be worn or sum auther form o unmanly dress that dae. The only real issue you'll face will be when your kilted on All Saints Dae and they'll be askin why you're still in your Halloween git up and walk away a wee bit puzzled that's all. Agin it's up tae you in the long run. You want tae wear your kilt, do so ! Who cares about the rest o the lot and what their wearing cuz in the end their just jealous and wish they had a kilt. I see by some of the pics in this post there are sum fellow Jacobites about. It's always gud tae be among Family.
    Yours Aye,
    Sean
