There. I did not wear a kilt for Halloween. I didn't even wear a costume.
It was a very quiet day and evening.
I won't be wearing a kilt for All Saint's Day tomorrow either.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

That is just too damn bad! I wore a kilt all day long. On the bike, off the bike, with customers, at the bank, at the store, at my parents, at the post office. I had no problems with toglidites, a couple of times younger ones honked and threw thumbs up, absolutley a great day! Am ordering an new SWK with a informal sporran this weekend!

The true question now is will you be wearing a kilt for Thanksgiving if you are an American? Should you wear a kilt for Thanksgiving?

I think that for other holidays, kilts are fine. Granted, I am the kind of person who thinks kilts are meant to be garments, not costumes, hence the reason why I didn't throw on a tartan kilt today. I did still go unbifurcated. I won't go into details, tho, since what I wore doesn't fit the focus of the site.

I have, in fact, worn the kilt for thanksgiving dinner in the past.

Why wouldn't you? I wear a kilt most every day, I'll be wearing one on Thanksgiving.

I wore my kilt Thursday and Friday to work and for trick or treaters. I was asked on Thursday: Arn't you a day early? No, usually I am a day late...

The trick or treaters were great. Are you Irish? No. Are you wearing skirt? No, it's a kilt. Did you wear the kilt for halloween? No, I wear it all the time.

Ah!! And a blessed Samhain to you! So, since I was asked to show pictures, here is one my wife took. Keep in mind she's a terrible photographer who doesn't grasp the concept of centering her subject. Looking at every picture she's ever taken, you'd think that the people have no feet and that what's above you is more interesting than you are! Anyway, here's my outfit:

I know the doublet is English. I figure that in the 1600's, it was clothing and not costume, and that if a Scot were to run across an English doublet, he wouldn't be too concerned with weather it fit with a painting or not, so long as it was warm- and this doublet certainly is that!

And here are our Jock O' Lanterns

"Two things are infinite- the universe, and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Albert Einstein.
