As you are a Mason, then you know that, with few exceptions, you have to comply with the requests made by the worshipful master of the lodge. So, it would seem to me that you either accept with good graces, or consider if you should remain in the craft since you are unwilling to accept the judgment of the WM in his lodge.

I agree; and really, how does it put you out to comply? After all, it is the WM's lodge. The honor of raising a brother to the Sublime Degree should far out weigh the request of being covered. You've been asked to come kilted, a fantastic request at that, so don't ruin the occasion for a fellow Brother of the Craft by having an issue on whether the "boys" are covered, or not, for the evening.
Keep it on the Level.

The leader of the local one when I joined decided he didn't like pagans, and I got black balled for 5 years. (They denied me entry to trying again in Michigan, even stated that as a reason. )
The 5 year period has ended, but it may be some time before I attempt to join again. I owe it to my deceased father to try again.

Let's keep this to kilts, please...we're going off-topic very quickly.

The rules governing Freemasonry require that a member (or potential member) profess a belief in a supreme Deity. If, as a pagan, you do not believe in a single, all powerful, supreme being, then you would not meet the most basic basic requirement for admission into the Masonic fraternity.
