I had to look boutonniere up!

I would have used the word corsage...

But I cannot see why you can't wear both, especially on such a momentous occasion!

Right, at least on this side of the Atlantic. Boutonniere used to mean a single flower (most often a carnation or perhaps a rose) worn in the left lapel button-hole. (hence the name).

Actually I have seen far worse looking outfits than the one worn in the picture. (No, I won't go into details, show pictures, or name names!) After all, it is your wedding day.
