Once, when asked if he was Irish, Wellington is said to have replied, "Our Lord was born in a stable but that didn't make him a horse." I think Wellington, just like George Washington (until July 4th, 1776), considered himself to be English.

Dwight Eisenhower said a similar thing (except it was kittens in the oven being called biscuits) about being born in Texas.

At the end of the film (4:19) there appears to be a Union Flag being carried upside down.
When the flag is on a jack or pole, the broad white stripe is at the top, closest to the wood.
