    I think these are Dunbars!

I got a call from the music store the other day and he had found the box the pipes had come in could I please come get it out of his store. Now assuming that the box is the same as the pipes, these are Dunbar pipes from the late sixties.

Now I am in a quandry, do I mess around with these or send them on to someone who has the knowledge to care for them as they deserve?

    As always, input is appreciated

    Greg

I've never heard of Dunbar making smallpipes, but I know Jack Dunbar was an inveterate experimenter. He was a turner for Henderson before he immigrated to Canada to set up his own shop. He pioneered the use of plastics and epoxy-impregnated woods in bagpipes, and his Polypenco P2's and 3's are very nice pipes; his blackwoods as good as any, all turned on the Henderson pattern. We really need to see some pictures. Don't you know anyone with a digital camera?
Get the box, with any paperwork that goes with it, get some good pics, and contact Dunbar at info@dunbarbagpipes.com, or

    J. Dunbar Bagpipe Maker Ltd.
    113 Cushman Road
    Unit # 64
    St. Catharines, ON L2M 6S9
    Canada

Dunbar's now run by his kids and they also do repairs and rehab. I would most certainly contact them to see if you've perhaps got a rare set of Dunbar smallpipes.

    P.S.
If that's indeed what they are, or a quality set of smallpipes Jack repaired, I may be very interested in taking them off of your hands and giving them a good home.

    Sorry guys,
all I have right now (moving mess) is the camera in my cell phone. And Luddite that I am I cannot figure out how to download pics. I did find another section for a drone, making that one a bass drone, in the box of stuff. Wish I could figure this new fangled technology out! I shall consult my offspring ASAP.

    smallpipes

I would go to www.bobdunsire.com Go to their forums, go to the small pipes section and explain what you have. There....is where the experts are. They could probably answer your question better if not quicker. But I do agree....you need to get some pics of those pipes.
