New pipes!!!
So, I got finished building my new David Daye Uilleann pipes. Black chanter with a real leather bag...SOOOOO nice. Step 2: learn how to play. It takes a lot of work to use the bellows! Maybe I just haven't sealed the thing up completely. I'll go over it tonight and check the seals. I think the most difficult part will be learning the new fingerings. Shouldn't be too bad, but I know to get sounding good enough for a session, it'll take a lot of work!
If anybody knows a uilleann instructor in Galway, let me know!!! I've already got lessons set up in Madison, I just need a tutor for when I'm living in Ireland.
Pictures to come soon.

My GHB instructor has a practice set (not sure by who) but he has expressed the difficulty. Best of luck!

as far as the bellows goes, when I played some small pipes ( with belows) I found it was easier to remember to lift my arm up and squeeze by taking a breath and blowing it out as you would with a GHB.....if you can understand that ! but try this...
pretend your holding a GHB under your arm "air pipes" and start fingering a tune, and I bet you'll notice that your "bag arm" starts to squeeze, now pretend your blowing into the blowpipe.........did your bag arm raise up a little? bet a bag of chips it did! so just transfer that over to the bellows
every time you take a breath in pull your bellows arm out to fill it up, when you blow out squeeze the bellows.
give it a shot and let me know what happens

Have you tried putting a message on bobdunsire.com for an Uilleann pipe instructor?

You'd be better served to enquire on Chiff and Fipple's Uilleann Pipes Forum than on Dunsire.
