    The Gordon badge is the same as is on the real one in the Book on Scottish Dirks mentioned and pictured in my posts. SO, that is not in question.

    The hilt doesn't look plated, but I could take it to a jeweler friend to inspect the stones and so forth.

    Many thanks..I would be interested to reading more about the badge's origins. Perhaps an e-mail to the museum is in order?
